Beaches, the Caribbean Sea and the Great Mayan Reef
The ideal destination for enjoying life
In just a few short years, the Riviera Maya, with its abundance of solitary beaches, marine life and wildlife as well as underground rivers and natural sinkholes called cenotes, has become Quintana Roo’s second most important vacation destination and one of the most attractive worldwide.
Right in front of the Grand Coral Riviera Maya’s coastline is the second largest and oldest living structure on the planet, the “Great Mayan Reef”. This barrier reef is home to a great variety of exotic tropical species, including coral and various species of sea turtles, tropical fish, sharks, etc. You can windsurf, snorkel, scuba dive more than 10 meters (33 ft) deep to view spectacular coral formation–or simply enjoy a leisurely walk along the beach.
